This class picks up and expands on our Fundamentals of Woodworking class taught by Sabiha. In Woodworking Expanded, you’ll build on the skills learned in the Fundamentals class, with more involved router work, joinery techniques, and some scrolling work as you construct a wide-format frame to be custom-sized by you, for holding a favorite matted photograph or if preferred, glass mirror. Sabiha will also show the adding of an appliqué for additional depth and complexity to the frame. It could be a small carved or free-hand routed element or other appliqué to further expand your woodworking skills and design sensibilities. The hardwood frame size you’ll complete will be able to accommodate artwork or a mirror size with a visual maximum dimension of 8” x 8” ; the frame’s outside dimensions will vary. You may bring along your matted photo or glass mirror to reference from, as well as your favorite marking and measuring tools, bench chisels and shop apron. (If you don’t have your own, tools will be available for sharing.) All other supplies and tools will be provided.
While it is not mandatory to have taken Sabiha’s Fundamentals of Woodworking class, you’ll want to have some knowledge in using the router and tablesaw in order to get the most from this class.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:
Highland Woodworking reserves the right to cancel any class. Full refunds will be issued in that event. Students withdrawing from a class must notify Highland Hardware 10 or more days prior to the beginning of the class to receive full credit or refund. No refund or credit will be issued with less than 10 days' notice.
