Hands-On Workshop

Whether you're a rank beginner or one looking for a refresher in turning, Frank's knowledge of his craft and easy rapport with students of all ages make this a rewarding learning experience. Frank will show you the basics of open-bowl turning, focusing on tool selection, sharpening techniques for gouges, finishing options and safe operation of the lathe. Time permitting, you'll make at least two bowls of pine and/or poplar plus a natural-edged bowl during the class.

All tools and materials will be provided but, as always, you're welcome to bring your favorite turning tool to learn how to sharpen and use it properly.

This class is considered suitable for teens who are at least 13 years of age. A parent or legal guardian must be present if a minor is to participate in the class.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
Highland Woodworking reserves the right to cancel any class. Full refunds will be issued in that event. Students withdrawing from a class must notify Highland Hardware 10 or more days prior to the beginning of the class to receive full credit or refund. No refund or credit will be issued with less than 10 days' notice. For labor intensive or multiple day courses, we reserve the right to issue special refund stipulations which will be noted in the class advertisement at the time of posting.
