Hands-On Workshop
Learn the basic concepts of woodturning, including lathe safety, project design, tool selection and basic techniques for cutting and shaping both side grain and end grain. Roughing gouges, bowl gouges, spindle gouges, parting tools and skews will be discussed and used.
Students will practice using these tools and techniques by making various items including a fine carver's mallet, as well as a few small objects such as a spinning top, gallery bowl, or small lidded box, time permitting.
This class is appropriate for all skill levels. Tools and materials will be provided. You can bring your favorite turning tool, if you want to practice using it.

This class is considered suitable for teens who are at least 13 years of age. A parent or legal guardian must be present if a minor is to participate in the class.
CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
Highland Woodworking reserves the right to cancel any class. Full refunds will be issued in that event. Students withdrawing from a class must notify Highland Hardware 10 or more days prior to the beginning of the class to receive full credit or refund. No refund or credit will be issued with less than 10 days' notice.
For labor intensive or multiple day courses, we reserve the right to issue special refund stipulations which will be noted in the class advertisement at the time of posting.
