Hands-On Workshop

In this two-day workshop, students will learn how to use an array of basic wood turning tools needed for spindle and bowl turning. Tools that will be covered include: spindle roughing gouge, spindle gouge, bowl gouge, skew, parting tool and bedan. Students will have an opportunity to apply newly learned skills with a spindle project on the first day, and a lidded bowl project on the second day.
This class is for beginning wood turners and those who consider themselves 'self-taught', but want a deeper understanding of the fundamentals to further their skills. At the conclusion of the workshop, students should have sufficient confidence and skill necessary for successful turning in their own shop.

This class is considered suitable for teens who are at least 13 years of age. A parent or legal guardian must be present if a minor is to participate in the class.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY Highland Woodworking reserves the right to cancel any class. Full refunds will be issued in that event. Students withdrawing from a class must notify Highland Woodworking 10 or more days prior to the beginning of the class to receive full credit or refund. No refund or credit will be issued with less than 10 days' notice.
