Brass Plated Threaded Inserts, Pack of 10 These threaded inserts are hollow steel(brass plated) cylinders with large wood-screw threads on the outside and machine-screw threads on the inside. They provide an extremely strong and reliable way to join wood for easy disassembly. Unlike more commonly available T-nuts, these inserts can be used in blind-stopped holes, leaving visible surfaces unmarred.
Drill a hole in the appropriate size, then use a screw or one of our Threaded Insert Wrenches to drive the insert into the wood. A little wax soap on the external threads makes installation easier. Internal threads are standard coarse count for stove bolts, machine screws, carriage bolts and threaded rod.
