For carving and whittling, or whenever you have to handle highly abrasive objects or very sharp edges, they will nearly eliminate the possibility of inflicting slicing cuts on your hands. Sharp points can stab through the knit, of course, but the shop's box of bandaids will last a lot longer when you're got these gloves on your hands. "One size fits all." Machine washable.
