You can build your own first class wooden plane from these complete, ready to assemble kits by HNT Gordon, Australian makers of fine planes. The working heart of each kit is an excellent blade, 4mm thick & tempered to Rc62 for great edge retention. Other parts include Ironwood front & rear body blocks, side panels, turned knob, blade holding wedge & self-adjusting brass abutments, and a blade setting block. You provide glue, a screw for the knob, and a few basic hand tools for assembly & fitting. They're satisfying projects, and fine planes to boot. The finished block plane is 6-5/8" long x 2-1/8" wide, with a 1-1/2" iron. The jack plane will be 9-1/2" x 2-5/8", with a 2" iron. Both are made of Australian Ironwood.
