This traditional cast iron hold down provides a fast, effective way to control stock on the benchtop for carving, sanding, routing, or any chore where quick-release positive control is required. Just slip the 14" long shank into a 3/4" hole in the bench surface, set the large 2" x 2" pad (8" maximum reach) on the work and give the holdfast a smart rap to set it firmly in place. A light tap releases it instantly. It works in surfaces of 2" or greater thickness.
