For skilled hand tool users, these highly refined new saws complement your abilities very nicely indeed. Unusually thin blades with precise, minimal set and perfect tooth geometry deliver thoroughbred performance for dovetailing and other fine joinery. Blades are just .015” thick; with teeth set only .003” each way, total kerf width is barely 3/128”. Delicate 1/8” x 3/8” milled brass backs help tension and stiffen the blades while adding as little weight as possible. Their flexibility makes these saws very sensitive and responsive, but it also demands skillful use to avoid binding and jamming during the forward stroke. Long, comfortable and beautifully finished fiddleback maple handles are mounted directly in line with the saws backs. Blades are 10” long; overall length is 17-1/2”. Lie-Nielsen offers three tooth configurations: 15 tpi rip for dovetailing, especially in fairly thin stock; 14 tpi crosscut, and 10 tpi rip for very fast, aggressive cutting in the hands of experienced joiners.
