We learned about Norton's 3X sanding sheets from our wood turning customers who've been raving about its performance. 3X sheets feature a tightly graded, heat-treated, aluminum oxide abrasive that lasts longer and cuts faster than conventional paper. With just hand sanding, we were able to remove planer marks in no time from our Makita 2012 on cherry with only 220x! A fiber reinforced paper resists tearing yet remains flexible for folding. It contours beautifully without losing grit making it excellent for sanding bowls, goblets and spindles.

3X's waterbased, stearated coating prevents clogging when sanding finishes and resinous woods. In our tests, we found it did not cause finish contamination or wood discoloration. So, it's safe for use on any raw wood or finish, including waterborne finishes if all dust is removed (Norton Red Dry Tack Cloth 156728). Norton's 3X Al-Ox sheets are P graded (FEPA), 9" x 11".
