Here's a highly affordable system for creating decorative rosettes with your drill press or lathe. The cutterhead (sold separately) accepts profile knives up to 3-1/16" in diameter. It comes with a 1/2" straight shank. For best results, the makers recommend working in smooth, clean-cutting wood such as cherry or birch, at speeds of 250 up to 350 rpm. High speed steel knives can be resharpened by polishing both flat sides on your favorite stones.
