Stanley Bailey #4 Corrugated Bench Plane


Actual Bailey pattern Stanley bench planes are still available from Stanley U.K. Although they ship with plastic handles now, they can be retrofitted with our rosewood plane handle set (105010). Some modification to the handles may be necessary for a proper fit. All come with high carbon steel blades and adjustable frogs. Numbers 4,5,6 and 7 have the option of a corrugated sole. We'll let you debate the merits corrugation; we feel it makes no practical difference.

The #4 is a standard smoothing plane, and is typically used just prior to sanding, scraping or finishing. It is 9-3/4” long x 2-1/2” wide with a 2” wide iron.
