This Stanley tool excels at taking down flat, open surfaces quickly and easily, with far less strain and heat on the fingers than card scrapers create. The blade is sharpened at a 25-45 bevel, and the cutting edge is then lightly turned toward the back with a burnisher. The blade can be set to take full-width shavings, or it can be bowed slightly with a thumb screw for very delicate finish shavings with no edge beads showing. Blade is 2-3/4" wide. Each Stanley #80 we sell includes a copy of "Life After Sandpaper", our guide to sharpening and shaping both card and handled scrapers.
