Tool list for the Make A Boxwood Spokeshave class:

 

 

 

• Tape measure and pencil
• Six inch combination square
• Bench chisels, 1/4" and 3/4" wide
• Block plane or #4 smoothing plane
• Hand scraper
• Small back saw or Japanese saw

 

 

Other tools that would be useful, though we’ll have some available to share for students who come without these tools:

 

• Small Stanley #271 or Lie-Nielsen router plane
• Nicholson Pattern Maker's rasp, #49 or #50
• Vixen 8 or 12" curved tooth file. (This style of file has “safe edges” meaning that the top and bottom of the file has cutting teeth, but the edges do not.)
