Classic 400 Frame Saw with Turbo Cut Blade

Detailed Description
Adding a Japanese blade to a classic European handsaw design advocated by teachers like Tage Frid and Anthony Guidice is pure genius. The Classic Frame Saw's German maker makes the ergonomically curved cheeks and handles of the frame from plantation grown tropical hardwoods, and the stretcher from cedar. The entire frame is beautifully sanded, oiled, and polished, and tension is applied through a stainless rod and thumbscrew. The assembled saw rests easily in the hand and feels much lighter than its appearance suggests. The heart and soul of this saw, though, is its Japanese blade. It's impulse hardened, thinner than its western counterparts, and the tooth profile allows fast, clean cutting in any direction through wood with very little set. The Classic 400, at 26-1/2" long by 12-1/2" tall, is sized for smaller users or for cutting joinery. It comes with a 1-1/4" wide, 15 tpi blade and can be outfitted with an optional narrow blade for fine joinery or cutting curves.
