DMT Dia-Sharp Extra-Large Diamond Stone, Extra Fine (1200 grit)

Here's a combination sure to attract a lot of attention: huge stones and remarkably reasonable prices. These new Dia-Sharp stones are 11-1/2" long by 2-1/2" wide on 3/8" solid steel plates—they're BIG! In a new departure for DMT, monocrystalline diamond abrasive is bonded to the stones' solid surface without the plastic base and hole pattern that has been a DMT signature for the last 20 years. This gives you 30% more abrasive to work on, and the heavy steel plates are precisely flat and guaranteed to stay that way. Stones this large make superb lapping plates for flattening and polishing the backs of chisels and plane irons, and of course they provide a truly luxurious sharpening experience. They may be used dry, requiring an occasional scrub with household abrasive cleanser to unclog the surface. Whenever possible, liberally wet the surface with water while you work, letting a combination of surface tension and hydraulic action keep swarf accumulation from slowing you down. Each stone comes with a set of non-skid ribber feet.
