Douglas 20 oz. Framing Hammer

Douglas Tool framing and finish hammers, a far cry from the plain vanilla hammers of yore, pack an array of innovative features into a stylish package. Unlike standard hammer heads, the Douglas head extends into the handle—in fact, a couple of inches of this extension protects the leading edge of the hickory handle from breaking due to overstrike. The top face of the head has an integral, magnetic nail starter for work that would otherwise be out of reach. The head also features a nail-pulling notch aligned with the long axis of the handle to maximize leverage. Framing hammers come with waffle-type "inverted traction" faces. The handle is straight, with an axe-handle style butt.
