On May 31st, Hal Simmons taught a small group of eager learners the basic concepts of woodturning. Throughout the day, students learned lathe safety, project design, and tool selection. They also learned several different techniques including cutting and shaping side grain and end grain. By the end of the class, each student had made several different small projects.
