Gilding is the process of applying tissue-thin sheets of beaten gold to all kinds of surfaces, from the most humble of woods to base metals, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. The practice of this mysterious art was restricted to a chosen few for centuries. Not any longer. Alan will reveal the secrets of the different types of gold and gilding, both water and oil, for restoration of formerly gilded pieces and for new. He will show you how to apply gold quickly, efficiently and easily using techniques you can use in your own shop.
