If you’re lucky enough to have an old handsaw somewhere in the shop, garage or attic and have been wondering how to get it into shape so it can become a useful tool again, come sit a spell with Chris Black as he demonstrates the nuts & bolts and back and forth of hand saw sharpening. Chris’s enthusiasm for hand tools and especially old hand saws is infectious and he’ll soon have you in the know about everything you’ll need to begin sharpening a hand saw. Chris will bring to light terms like rake and fleam (no, these are not Wall Street derivative terms) and show you how to take command of a file to rejuvenate tooth by tooth, the cutting surfaces of a hand saw. Be sure to bring along a notepad, pencil and a digital camera to help you retain the flow of information. If you’d like Chris to give you a quick evaluation of your old handsaws, you may bring along one or two for Chris to inspect during the class.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:
Highland Woodworking reserves the right to cancel any class. Full refunds will be issued in that event. Students withdrawing from a class must notify Highland Hardware 10 or more days prior to the beginning of the class to receive full credit or refund. No refund or credit will be issued with less than 10 days' notice. For labor intensive or multiple day courses, we reserve the right to issue special refund stipulations which will be noted in the class advertisement at the time of posting.
