Herdim Micro Plane

The manufacturer claims this is "the smallest functional plane in the world ever to be manufactured in a series". And it is tiny: the sole is less than 1/2" long and 1/4" wide. It's functions: the spoon-shaped sole and radiused iron (1/8" wide) are the sort used by violin makers to hollow small surfaces. In our heart of hearts though, what matters to us is that it's so cool. The fitted ebony box with sliding boxwood cover (inscribed "The world's smallest plane") just makes it cooler.
