Our Highland's store opened in 1978 with a mission to promote woodworking by increasing access to woodworking tools, supplies and ideas. A woodworker's community developed around the store, which became a gathering place for folks from all over the southeast interested in woodworking and the tools of the craft.
In 1980, the growing enthusiasm among Highland's customers helped lead to the formation of The Woodworkers Guild of Georgia, and eventually many other local and regional woodworking clubs. Through 30 years of publishing the Highland Hardware Woodworking Tool Catalog and the launch of our website in 1996, we have provided countless woodworkers with woodworking tips, techniques and tools to help master skills from wood joinery to wood finishing and everything in between.
The internet creates new opportunities to bring woodworkers together and to help ensure future generations of craftsmen flourish. With our woodworking blog site we are able to share our woodworking resources with all of you, bringing expanded coverage of what's new and interesting in woodworking.
Our blog has a companion RSS feed and is frequently updated with a storehouse of woodworking information. Please feel free to jump in and comment on any of our entries. We'd love to hear from you!
