Our model 114102 Hoffman and Hammer premium German woodworking workbench was selected by Fine Woodworking as "Best Value in a Ready-Made Workbench," December 2007.

The workmanship that goes into this fine woodworking workbench is simply outstanding. Joints are as perfect as most of us usually just wish for; solid beech stock is straight, clear and beautifully finished. This midsize workbench model comes complete, ready for assembly. (Bolt the stretchers to the legs, then lay on the top - you're done!) It has a shoulder vise with wooden jaw mounted flush with the left end of the bench, a tail vise with a dog hole in the moving jaw, vise handles, and pair of steel bench dogs. A full-length tool well with clean-out ramps runs along the rear of the work surface, and there's a center-mounted drawer as well.

The medium workbench is 71" long by 22" wide, 34" high with front edge 3-1/2" thick for rigidity under the heaviest use. The work surface is 1-5/8" thick. It weighs 132 lbs. Its shoulder vise is 16-1/2" wide, with 8" working opening. The same hardware is used for the tail vise, this time with a 14-1/2" wooden jaw with a dog hole at the left end.
