Hydrocote Gloss Exterior Polyshield, Quart
|
Highland Item # 196085
|
Detailed Description
Hydrocote Gloss Exterior Polyshield, Quart This polyurethane provides a finish of extraordinary clarity, flexibility & hardness. Polyshield goes on water-clear and stays that wayit does not yellow with age or exposure to sunlight, making it the ideal finish for use on light-colored or painted woods, pickled floors & cabinets, or wherever a tough finish which adds no color is desired. A cured film of Polyshield is so tough it's hard to believe until you put it to the test, but you'll find it difficult to stain, tear, or even scratch the surface. Polyshield is UV stable, meaning the coating is resistant to UV light to keep the coating from degrading or yellowing due to sun exposure. However, there are no UV absorbers in Polyshield and it cannot protect the substrate (wood) or any applied coloring (dyes or stains) from sun fading.
Polyshield can be hand applied with pad painters, poly brushes, or fine bristle brushes, and it can be sprayed as well. Drying time between coats is about two hours. Thin and clean with water. Polyshield can be used over bare, stained, or previously finished wood, with this advice: as with oil-based polys, Polyshield depends for adhesion on good mechanical bonding; clean and scuff sand any existing coating before applying the poly and you'll have no trouble at all.
