Hydrocote Wood Pre-Seal, Quart

Hydrocote Wood Pre-Seal is a first-step sealer that does several useful jobs at once. Wood Pre-Seal virtually eliminates grain raising. It deepens and accentuates color much like an oil finish, but dries ready for finishing in an hour. Wood Pre-Seal serves as an excellent pre-stain surface conditioner too, sealing soft woods like pine and leveling color absorption across density gradients on cherry, quilted birch and other problem species. It's an effective tannin blocker, so it's recommended as a first coat on tannin-rich wood like oak, especially before using pigmented finishes or pickling stains. Wood Pre-Seal is compatible with virtually every kind of finish, so it's a good alternative to sanding sealers, especially when you're going to apply extremely durable coatings like Resisthane or Polyshield.
