Detailed Description
Japanese Iyoroi handmade Cabinetmaker's Chisels feature "white steel" laminated-blade construction for superb sharpening and edge-holding characteristics. A layer of high-carbon steel hardened to Rockwell c65 along its full length provides an extremely hard, long-wearing cutting edge. The bulk of the blade is lower-carbon steel tempered for tough, shatterproof resilience. At 11-3/4" overall, these tools are long enough for a comfortable, full-fisted grip. Bolstered tang and heavy steel ferrule at the butt allow use of mallet or hammer for heavy work. Inch equivalent is just under 1/4".
