Leigh RTJ400 Router Table Dovetail Jig
As router tables have become an increasingly important tool in many small shops, Leigh Industries
has introduced an innovative new Leigh Jig designed specifically for use on your router table.
The versatile RTJ400 is an excellent solution for accurate routing of Through Dovetails, Box Joints and Half-Blind Dovetails,
with built-in features for superior joint fit adjustment and an adjustable side stop for precise workpiece
alignment. By rotating the elliptical template guide that's provided, joint tightness can be tuned to within a
thousandth of an inch. The sidestop features an offset for rabbeted half-blind dovetails, such as are
commonly used in drawer fronts. The aircraft-grade aluminum template is CNC machined for precise alignment.
Through dovetails can be cut on boards 1/8" to 1" thick. Half-blind from 1/2" to 1" thick. 9 sizes of
through dovetails are possible along with 3 sizes of single pass half-blind dovetails.
Box joints can be cut in 4 sizes (3/32", 3/16", 3/8" and 3/4") on boards 1/8" to 1" thick and up to 16" wide.
The 4 ergonomic cam-action clamps work securely and allow adjustable width clamping.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to use the RTJ400 Dovetail jig, your router table's router plate (that your router attaches to) MUST have an opening or a snap-in ring that is sized to accept a "universal" style template guide. (The universal-style template guide is based on the decades-old type guides made by Porter Cable and Black and Decker). The opening should measure 1-3/8" in diameter, so it can accommodate Leigh's guide bushing that comes with the RTJ400 jig. Router tables made by Festool are not designed for table mounted template guided routing.
The RTJ400 jig is NOT compatible with the Bosch RA1181 and RA1171 Router Tables, because you cannot mount a universal style template guide into the tables.
The template guide mounting hole in your router table plate should look like this.
The template guide mounting hole in your router table should accept a template guide that looks like this.
