Leigh Super 18 Jig w/ VRS & Bit Set

These new jigs from Leigh have all the great features you've come to expect from Leigh but at a lower price! They are available in 12", 18" and 24" models. Like previous Leigh versions, you can cut variably spaced through and half-blind dovetails in a variety of material sizes and thicknesses in two passes, or you can cut both sides of fixed spaced half-blinds at the same time. The Super Jigs also make sliding dovetails and 5/16" and 5/8" box joints right out of the package. There's no additional template to buy. You can even fine-tune the fit of the fingers with Leigh's new E-Bush template guide that adjusts in increments of .002.

Leigh redesigned their speed clamps for a more powerful grip, and made the finger assembly easier to slide and read. There's even a handy on-board reference card with set up information, and a quick setup jig for box joints and half-blind dovetails that stores on the jig.

With each size Super Jig you get: 1/2" 8° dovetail bit, 1/2" 14° dovetail bit, 5/16" straight bit, 1/2" to 8mm collet reducer, 7/16" template guide, cam-action speed clamps, sliding dovetail fence, square drive screwdriver (for adjusting the fingers), a really first-class instruction manual and DVD, the new E-Bush and some half-blind bridging material.

Leigh's VRS Vacuum & Router Support for the Leigh Dovetail Jigs puts dust collection functionality onto the jig, freeing your router from bulky hose connections. Along with dust collection, the VRS provides additional router support across the full width of the jig. Its thoughtful design moves up and down with the templates, so there's no repositioning as stock thickness changes. A collector chute slides effortlessly under the support for super-efficient dust removal directly at the source. Two controller arms straddle the base of any router, moving the collector chute as you slide your router. Each VRS comes complete with two adapters to fit all popular vacuum hose sizes from 1" to 2-1/2". Because the VRS is held in place by powerful rare earth magnets, it stays put during use, but comes off without tools (and even has a built-in hanger) when you want to flip or change templates. Made from aluminum and tough ABS plastic.

The 7-Piece Dovetail Bit Set for the Leigh D1600 and Super Dovetail Jigs includes the following: 1/4" 8° dovetail bit, 5/16" 8° dovetail bit, 3/8" 8° dovetail bit, 7/16" 8° dovetail bit, 1/2" 10° dovetail bit, 1/2" 12° dovetail bit and 1/2" 18° dovetail bit. It complements the D1600 and Super Jigs perfectly. With the seven bits in this set and the three bits that come with the jig, you are equipped to make any joint within the D1600 or Super Jig's capabilities. All bits are 8mm shank. A 1/2" to 8mm collet adapter is included with the jig. If you need one we also carry them separately (see below).
