Lie-Nielsen Low Angle Jack Plane Optional Toothed Iron

Toothed Iron for the Lie-Nielsen No. 62 Low Angle Jack Plane . The toothing iron has a large number of very small teeth (.030 wide and .030 between teeth), so it works great on highly figured or crazy grained wood. Since the iron has lots of small teeth, it can remove material without the tendency to dive down into the grain. The surface left by the toothing iron is not what most associate with planing, as it is rough, yet flat so follow up with a freshly sharpened standard iron, honed at an angle between 30 and 45 degrees.
