Lie-Nielsen Boggs Flat Spokeshave

Lie-Nielsen collaborated with Kentucky master chairmaker, Brian Boggs, and the results are physically beautiful tools with outstanding performance. The 1/8" thick, 2" wide A2 steel blade has a lovely (and comfortable) radiused back edge. The blade's thickness and the fact that it is held in place between a fully-machined bed and a flat cap iron (rather than pivoting bars) make it much less prone to chatter or tearout than other shaves we've used. The bronze body and hickory handles are beautifully executed, and the oversized knurled thumbscrews make setup less of a trial. It is 10-1/2" long with a 1" flat sole. Weighs 12 ounces.
