Lie-Nielsen 271 Router Planes

Now available in the classic open-throat style (model 271), as well as in the new closed-throat style (model 271-CT). The open throat model gives slightly better visibility of the cutter during use. The closed throat model provides more stability when planing narrow surfaces.

When the classic model was first introduced a few years ago, Lie Nielsen accomplished a radical improvement in Stanley's classic small router plane design. With its 1/4" cutter, Lie Nielsen's 271 is the right answer for shallow relief work like hinge mortises, lock plates and inlay work. We applaud Lie Nielsen for reintroducing this incredibly useful tool. It has been sorely missed. Dimensions are 2" x 4". Body is cast ductile iron.
