Lonnie Bird's CMT Crown Molding Router Bit Set, an outstanding 7-piece cutter set cuts crown molding and cornices for both furniture and architectural applications, in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. At the heart of the set is a 7" diameter, 3/4" thick flute cutter which mounts on your tablesaw. Running your stock diagonally across the cutter cuts coves from less than 3/4" to as much as 6" wide, depending on the angle of aproach and depth of cut. It's exactly like cutting coves with a saw blade, but the resulting surfaces are far smoother and easier to finish, thanks to the cutter's radiused edges. After cutting the cove, mount any of six different profile bits in your table-mounted router to shape both top and bottom edges of your molding. The cove cutter has a 5/8" arbor hole, and the router bits all have 1/2" shanks with guide bearings installed below the inverted cutters.
