Delivery expected in early 2010The new Steel City Tools lathe is manufactured with a solid granite
headstock and bedways. The latest model features electronic Variable Speed control, adding real convenience to your turning.
Steel City calls this a mini-lathe, but with 27" between centers and weighing a hefty 161 lbs (about twice the weight of most mini-lathes), let's at least call it a midi-lathe. Granite will never twist, warp or rust & provides extra mass to keep the machine stationary when turning large pieces. The 12" swing over the bedways and generous
27" distance between centers give you ample room to handle a multitude of turning projects. A 1/2HP 115V TEFC motor turns a 5 position step pulley
with speeds of 500-3600 RPM. Hinged access doors make speed changes and belt replacement quick & easy. Spindle size is 1" x 8 TPI. Tailstock & headstock
are #2 MT.
