Norton Axe Sharpening Stone

Norton's Axe Sharpening Stone is the ideal field companion for your favorite axe. This puck-shaped, combination stone has a coarse abrasive on one side for establishing an initial edge and a fine side for improving that edge. At only 3" in diameter and 5/8" thick, it won't take up much room in your pack or toolbox. The round shape is easy to grip and follows the curvature of your axe's bit quite nicely. For best results, use with any (yes, any) light oil for lubrication and to keep the stone from clogging. We recommend working the stone from the side of the axe head towards the cutting edge. Lift it on the return stoke to avoid injury.
