Pony Light Duty Woodworker's Bench Vise

The Pony Light Duty Woodworker's Bench Vise is perfect for the woodworker with limited space. Vise body and front plates are made from close-grained grey cast iron with provisions for attaching wooden protective liners. The steel main screw has Acme threads for smooth responsive adjustments. 6-1/2" wide jaws open to 4-1/2" and are equipped with "toe-in" feature so that when fully closed, the jaws meet only at the top to provide even clamping on the whole depth of the workpiece.

This vise can be mounted to workbenches with a range of top thicknesses. When mounted to a 2-1/4" thick top, the top of the vise will be flush with the bench top. If you choose to mount it to a thinner top, we recommend that you shim the vise so that it is flush with the top surface of the bench. It mounts to your workbench using two screws in the back face and two screws in the bottom plate. (For maximum mount strength, we recommend two #12 flat-head wood screws in the back face and two 5/16" lag screws in the bottom plate.) It accepts jaw pads (mounted with two #10 flat-head wood screws ) on both faces. For more versatility, you can use the available magnetic jaw pads.
