Detailed Description
Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm
Class Size: 15
Hands-On Workshop
Perhaps because of its sheer simplicity, the scraper is one of the most under-valued tools in the shop, but it is easily one of the most useful. Jim will guide you through the process of preparing your card scraper to take gossamer shavings in the gruffest grain. You will learn how to use the scraper for smoothing finishes or removing glue residue. Jim will demonstrate and you will use curved scrapers, a Stanley #80 scraper, and a scraping plane. You will go home with a sharp new card scraper and the skills to use it properly. All tools and materials provided, including the new card scraper.
