Side Clamping Honing Guide

Our Side Clamping Honing Guide is based on a classic British design but at half the cost. Its three tool holding positions open from 1/16" to 3", and will grip everything from a 2mm chisel to a #8 plane iron. With some care and dexterity, it just does grasp 151-style spokeshave blades found on Anants, Records, Stanleys and some Kunzs. Because the bearing roller is only 1/2" wide, it facilitates the rocking motion of alternate finger pressure to produce cambered cutting edges as advocated by David Charlesworth in his Plane Sharpening video.
