Stanley Sweetheart 9-1/2 Standard Angle Block Plane

Filling the quality gap between budget economy & heirloom handmade, Stanley has brought these high quality bench & block planes to market. Resurrecting a trademark last used in the 1930s that honored Stanley president William Hart, these planes proudly display the initials SW framed inside a heart shaped border. This Sweetheart logo harkens back to a level of manufacturing craftsmanship hard to find in tools today.

These planes have a one piece shoe & frog unit made from sturdy, durable, ductile cast iron & milled flat to a tolerance of .003. The beefy 1/8 thick A2 steel blade reduces chatter & has increased edge retention & the adjustable mouth soles help achieve exceptionally fine shavings. A patented lateral adjuster simplifies & quickens blade adjustment. Brass knobs & cherry hardwood handles (only bench planes have wood handles) add elegant accents to these tools. 2 lbs.
