Steel City Drill Press Mortising Kit

Here's a great buy on a complete hollow-chisel mortising set-up for our drill press, with chisel holder yoke, fence, hold-down and hold-in hardware, and four chisel & bit sets from 1/4" to 1/2", all packed in a fitted case. It's the work of a minute to turn your drill press into a mortising machine that cuts crisp, accurate, square-cornered through or blind mortises. The hold-down secures stock up to 4" thick; thicker than that, just clamp your work against the fence. 1/4" & 5/16" chisels cut to 2" maximum depth; 3/8" & 1/2" chisels to 3" max. Resharpen chisels with a small conical grinding stone chucked in your drill press, and maintained with a ceramic file stone. Touch up bits with an auger bit file.

Steel City has equipped this attachment to fit most popular drill presses on the market. The chisel yoke clamps directly onto quills of 66mm (~2-5/8") dia. Three bushing sets provided also accommodate 50.8mm (2"), 48mm (1-7/8"), and 38mm (1-1/2") quill diameters. These sizes include Steel City drill press model 20520; Delta drill press models 11-090, 11-980, 11-990, 14-070, 17-900 and 17-965; and Sears models 21313, 21315 & 21317. A little creative shimming can easily deal with most sizes in between.
