Here's a chance to create a wonderful, handcrafted gift!

Freshly ground pepper always tastes better, especially if it comes from a pepper grinder you make yourself. Now, you can learn how to make your own peppermill on the lathe. Hal will begin by teaching you the basic concepts of woodturning, including lathe safety, project design and tool selection. Then he will show you how to turn your own 6" pepper grinder. You will learn how to accurately measure the wood needed for the grinder, how to hold and bore the holes through which the mechanism operates, and how to turn the outside shape. Some spindle turning experience is helpful but not required.

You'll take home a handsome peppermill for your own kitchen and the skills to make many more. All tools and materials will be provided but, as always, if you have your own turning tools, feel free to bring them along.

For your safety, when attending a hands-on class, be sure to wear closed toe footwear.
