And for non-wine drinkers, make stoppers for use in a bottle of olive oil and/or balsamic vinegar. Even the budget brand bottle of olive oil looks uptown when corked with a handturned stopper !
Hal will teach you about prepping the wood blanks in the most efficient manner and about the different chucking options for holding your stock. You'll then have an opportunity to focus on refining your form, while learning how to add detail elements to your stoppers. This class is appropriate for beginners and turners with experience. All tools and materials will be provided, though feel free to bring your favorite turning tools to use with Hal's guidance.
