The big drawback of most miter saws is the poor quality of cut on the bottom side of the board. It's just the nature of the saw - when the blade cuts through the bottom of the board it blows out the fibers at the edge of the cut. The best solution is a zero clearance plate. Unfortunately, they aren't available for most miter saws.

FastCap has the solution! Apply Zero Clearance Tape to the throat of your miter saw and you'll virtually eliminate blow out. As a bonus, you'll also get a great reference for future cuts. Since you cut the slot in Zero Clearance Tape with the saw blade, the edge of the cut will be exactly aligned with the edge of the blade.

Zero Clearance Tape is made from durable PVC and should last for plenty of jobs. Each strip of Zero Clearance Tape is 2" wide by 16" long by 0.020" thick.
