ECE Mortise Plane

ECE hand planes combine Emmerich's meticulous quality with the economy of traditional hammer-set irons secured with wooden wedges. Heavy irons are solidly bedded for smooth, clean performance. Bodies are dense European beech and soles are long-wearing hornbeam. As in all Emmerich planes, the workmanship is simply outstanding.

This unlikely-looking plane is made expressly for creating shallow hardware mortises for hinges and strike plates. The body is 9-7/16" long, and the iron is 5/8" wide. The mortise plane also accepts the ECE Scrub Plane iron.
