Detailed Description
Festool TS 55 FEQ-F-Plus Plunge Cut Track Saw
While a standard circular saw is a useful tool, the Festool Track saw, with its ability for doing precision work, is in a class
all its own. Smoothly sliding on an extruded aluminum rail, you simply lay the edge of the guide rail directly on your layout marks
for the saw to make dead accurate cuts. The bottom of the rail has rubber grip strips to help the rail stay put while cutting.
Optional clamps slip into channels on the bottom of the rail, securing the rail to your material without impeding the saws travel
- along the full length of the rail.
Cutting is safer since the blade remains housed out of harms way until you plunge the saw down as you begin to cut and a
built in riving knife minimizes kickback. You get portability, ease of work flow (you bring the saw to the work, versus having
to lift heavy sheet stock onto a table saw) and efficiency, since the rails edge is the finished cut edge, no computing for guide
rail width is needed.
The Festool TS 55 track saw is a perfect precision power saw for building cabinets, case goods and furniture, especially when
space limitations won't allow a table saw in your shop or garage. But for those that do own a table saw, these track saws help
you process large panels down to manageable sizes for cutting on the table saw and let you cut long miters unobtainable with a
table or panel saw. When you partner a Festool Track Saw with an optional
MFT/3 Standard Multi-Function Table, you get a miter saw cutting workstation
of unparalleled capacity and versatility.
The TS 55 FEQ track saw has an exterior housing
that provides a view window to the leading cutting edge of the blade and affords tighter, close-to-the-wall cutting. The blade
tilt goes from negative 1° to 47° and a blade depth scale lets you read the blade depth while on the guide track or
sitting right on the material. A micro-adjust lets you fine tune the depth of cut, a retractable splitter now can extend into
a previous saw kerf for blade alignment, while the improved splinter guard keeps your cuts clean. You get a powerful variable
speed motor , unparalleled dust extraction with a vacuum connected and fast blade changes. The 160mm(6-1/4") 42t blade
cuts 50mm (1-15/16") at 90° and 37mm (1-7/16") at 45°. (Listed cutting depths are
on the track. Add 5mm for cut depth off the track.)
Depth of cut scale reads in inches.
Guide Rail
We strongly recommend that you buy a guide rail (Sold separately)
to go with your track saw. You cannot experience the full benefits of this saw without the guide rail.
