Festool Vlies Abrasive Pad

Festool's Vlies (pronounced “fleece”) is a non-woven abrasive pad. It's synthetic mesh pad with Silicon Carbide or Aluminum Oxide grit spread throughout the structure. It has a flexible, open structure that works well for sanding curved surfaces and clearing the sanding dust that results. (You're probably familiar with 3M Scotch-Brite™. Well, Vlies is similar.)

Festool offers Vlies hand sanding pads in two formats.

• A continuous roll 115mm wide by 10 meters long (4-1/2" by 33 feet)
• A box of 115mm by 150mm (4-1/2" by 6") pads. 100 grit pads come 25 to a box. 320, 800 & 1000 grit pads come 30 to a box.

Both styles are about 10mm (3/8") thick and available in Medium(100), Fine(320), Super Fine(800) & Ultra Fine(1000) grits. The pads are the same. It's just the format and packaging that's different.

Vlies is also available to fit many Festool power sanders.
