Festool 5mm Dowel Drill Router Bit - 8mm shank

This down-cut spiral router bit is designed to make very clean plunge cuts for stopped shelf pin holes. It has a tip that resembles a brad point drill bit with sharp spurs that will slice through the wood fibers. The down spiral action of the cutter pushes the wood fibers into the workpiece – nearly eliminating tearout.

If you need a bit to make through shelf pin holes in the center panel of a cabinet, we recommend the Spear Point version of this bit.

Festool makes this bit for use with their LR 32 Shelf Drilling System, but it can be used with any jig and in any router that can hold an 8mm shank bit.

If your router doesn't have an 8mm collet, we offer a 1/2" to 8mm adapter sleeve.
