Though they're held rigidly, blades can by removed readily by gripping between thumb and forefinger. In use, you can't tell you're not working with a single-purpose dedicated tool. This set comes with an 11-pocket tool roll and a basswood relief carving practice blank with a stenciled design ready to carve.
