Detailed Description
Japanese Iyoroi Cabinetmaker's Chisel Japanese Iyoroi handmade Cabinetmaker's Chisels feature "white steel" laminated-blade construction for superb sharpening and edge-holding characteristics. A layer of high-carbon steel hardened to Rockwell c65 along its full length provides an extremely hard, long-wearing cutting edge. The bulk of the blade is lower-carbon steel tempered for tough, shatterproof resilience. At 11-3/4" overall, these chisels are long enough for a comfortable, full-fisted grip. Bolstered tang and heavy steel ferrule at the butt allow use of mallet or hammer for heavy work. Inch equivalent is just under 1/8".
Japanese Iyoroi Cabinetmaker's Chisels are available in seven widths:
- 3mm (~1/8")
- 6mm (~1/4")
- 9mm (~3/8")
- 12mm (~15/32")
- 18mm (~11/16")
- 24mm (~15/16")
- 30mm (~1-5/16")
