Detailed Description
Mixol Universal Tints
See below for color chart.
A large color sample of Mixol mixed in white paint at 10% will show above after you select the color and size.
Mixol is a universal tint that can be mixed into many finishing products - water-based, solvent-based, high quality oil-based. It
can be mixed with paint, stain, epoxy, glaze, shellac, lacquer, putty, filler, grout and many other products. It's easily
cleaned up with water.
Mixol is not a finish on it's own, it must be mixed with finish to work. It's very concentrated so you won't need
a lot - think drops, not ounces. The pigments are the highest quality - sourced from all over the world. Mixol tints are made in Germany.
Sizes
Mixol tints are available in 20mL (~.67oz) and 200mL (~6.7oz) bottles. Not all of the colors are available in both sizes. If you need larger
quantities, we can order them for you. Just give us a call.
We also offer the 20mL bottle in assortments of 12 colors. One assortment includes colors 1-12 and the other includes colors 13-24.
Tint Types
L-type tints (#6 Maize Yellow, #7 Canary Yellow, #10 Red and #18 Orange) are not light fast enough for exterior use.
LW-type and LW-Oxide type tints are lightfast and weatherproof for use indoors or outdoors. The True colors are made to
be light fast outdoors, which is especially difficult for red and yellow shades.
L-type and LW-type tints use organic pigments and have white bottle caps. LW-Oxide-type tints use inorganic pigments and have red bottle caps.
Important Information on Color Samples
Universal tints are used for coloring a variety of finishes. The color samples below show the color achieved by mixing Mixol universal tints in white paint.
The percent shown is calculated by weight. The samples do not show the true color of the Mixol liquid.
Given the variations between different paints, you may get slightly different results with the same ratios.
No color representation on paper or a screen can show exactly what a colorant looks like. These are reasonably close to the colors achieved by
mixing the colorants in these formulas. When mixed with other liquids (clear finishes, epoxies, fillers, etc.) the result will be different.
