Highland Item # 179412

Detailed Description
Biber Classic Symmetric Broad Axe
This is a big, hefty axe. While it may look like something a Viking warrior would carry, it's actually used for shaping logs into beams. This traditional Austrian design is
hand-forged from a single piece of steel, then specially hardened and sharpened to a fine edge on a water-cooled wheel. The ash handle is safety wedged to the head and lightly
waxed.
When shaping a log into a beam, this axe is used to cut a series of vertical slits or grooves into the log. After scoring, use flat-sided
broad axe to remove the material between the cuts.
